Originally the reason I made this smoothie was because we had 10 bananas in our freezer, and I don’t know if there’s like a limit to how many bananas you can have in your freezer before it gets weird, but it felt like maybe 10 was pushing it. So I decided to put some of ’em in a smoothie. Now we make this recipe on repeat. I know that smoothies can sometimes get kinda boring, but this smoothie is one that my husband actually gets excited about me making. It just hits every. single. time!
Everything you’ll need to make this banana bread smoothie
- Bananas: can’t make it taste like banana bread without the bananas! Bananas provide a natural sweetness to the smoothie.
- Peanut Butter: adds creamy, delicious and rich flavor to the smoothie, plus it is high in protein and healthy fats!
- Cinnamon: use a LOT of it!! In fact…when you think you have added enough cinnamon…you haven’t so add a lil more 🙂 I feel like the cinnamon helps it to taste more like banana bread.
- Milk: use your favorite! This helps the smoothie to taste more rich and creamy.
- Vanilla Protein Powder: we use the vanilla Orgain Organic Protein Powder from Costco. It’s plant based we so good! We usually don’t like plant based protein powders because they can sometimes taste chalky, but that is not the case with this one. By adding a scoop of this protein powder you’ll be adding 21g of protein!
Banana Bread Smoothie
Originally the reason I made this smoothie was because we had 10 bananas in our freezer, and I don't know if there's like a limit to how many bananas you can have in your freezer before it gets weird, but it felt like maybe 10 was pushing it. So I decided to put some of 'em in a smoothie. Now we make this recipe on repeat. I know that smoothies can sometimes get kinda boring, but this smoothie is one that my husband actually gets excited about me making. It just hits every. single. time!
Ingredients
- 2 bananas, frozen
- 2 Tbsp peanut butter, or 2 spoonfuls
- cinnamon, a LOT…if you feel like you have enough…you don't so add a lil more 🙂
- milk of choice
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Instructions
- Blend everything together! Depending on how liquidy (I don't think that's actually a word but you know what I mean ) you want your smoothie to be, just adjust how much milk & water you add. A good rule of thumb I do is just half & half for whatever consistency I'm craving at the time.
