This is a 10 minute meal or quick bite that is healthy and will leave you feeling full & satisfied! I make this an open face sandwich for Garrett & I, but you could most definitely slap another slice of bread on the other sides to transform it into a sandwich! The inspiration for this recipe came from my sister’s baby shower when I discovered how delightful chive & onion cream cheese spread was!
EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE SMOKED SALMON WITH CHIVE & ONION SPREAD
- Bread: I absolutely love making bread so I made a honey, nut, oat bread for ours but pick whatever bread you enjoy eating! Be sure to toast it for a little bit so that the bread doesn’t get soggy soaking up the chive& onion cream cheese spread.
- Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread: is so good on bread! It’s creamy and savory and will add so much flavor!!
- Arugula: I like to add some veggies to any dish or meal because vegetables provide so many needed nutrients! You can use whatever leafy green you’d like.
- Smoked Salmon: adds a salty tender richness to the sandwich! We get the wild caught one at Costco.
- Pickled Red Onion: I make ours at home (you can find the link to the recipe here) and they add a tangy crunch! You know how vinegar chips just go so well with sandwiches? Well pickled onions are delicious in the same regard because they also provide a vinegar crunchy goodness!
Smoked Salmon with Chive & Onion Spread
