EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE this mediterranean rice cooker rice
- Rice: you can use white or brown rice for this!
- Onion: rich in vitamin B and antioxidants, onions are known for their ability to fight inflammation! Plus onions provide a ton of flavor, which makes sense because they’re in the same family as garlic.
- Garlic: oh garlic in anything is absolutely delicious! Even the smell alone lets you know what you’re about to eat is gonna be good! We use a lot of garlic because 1) we really like garlic and 2) we have yet to hear someone say a dish had too much garlic!
- Spices & Herbs: add favor complexity to your rice.
- Broth: we use chicken broth that I make in our instant pot (if you’d like to learn you can find the recipe here) for this, but if you are vegetarian or don’t want to use broth you can also use water.
Mediterranean Rice Cooker Rice

Ingredients
- 1 cup white or brown rice
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup chicken broth (or water if vegetarian)
Instructions
- Mix everything together in your rice cooker. Then cook your rice on the “quick” rice cooker setting.
