My husband and I love pickled red onions because they add flavor to any dish and are so simple to make and keep on hand! The really nice thing is that these red onions can be ready to use in 1 hour if you slice your red onions thin enough!
EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE these pickled red onions
- Red Onion: the thinner you slice your red onion, the faster it will pickle!
- White Vinegar: the onions will absorb the flavor from this, which is where it gets that tangy punch from.
- Honey: just a lil to make it not too sour.
- Salt: acts as a preservative by inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria, yeasts, and molds. Additionally, salt draws out moisture from the food, which helps to firm its texture and maintain its crispness.
