Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits

These biscuits are fluffy, simple, and cheesy with a hint of jalapeno heat! So essentially what I'm saying is...they're absolutely delicious and you're gonna love 'em! This takes the biscuit recipe I was born and raised on and adds a lil cheesy spice!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp chilled butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 jalapeno, 1/2 diced & 1/2 sliced to go on top

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450F.
  • Combine dry ingredients into a medium-sized bowl.
  • Cut in your butter with a knife into small cubes.
  • When the mixture is the consistency of corn meal, add in your milk, 1/2 jalapeno (diced), & cheddar cheese.
  • Stir until the dough leaves the sides of the bowl, knead with your hands.
  • Form into biscuits based on the size you would like. My husband and I like to make mini sized biscuits (so we make 8 by dividing the dough in half and then divide those halves into 4 pieces).
  • Place your biscuits into a cast iron skillet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!
